IATA¡¦s Recommendation on Cargo-XML Standards
¡P
Stop Cargo IMP and Moving towards Cargo-XML message by the end of year
2014
Further to News 36
(2011-2012) dated 14 November 2011, IATA has released a paper on its
recommendation on Cargo-XML Standards.
Members please note that it is planned to sunset IATA Cargo-IMP manual by the end of 2014 and changes to IATA
standard EDI messages will only be done to IATA XML messages afterwards.
New messages will only be developed in Cargo-XML format. IATA recommended that
industry stakeholders who want to start exchanging EDI messages, especially SMEs, to adopt Cargo-XML standards and not IATA Cargo-IMP as agreed with their partners. Industry stakeholders that
are using IATA Cargo-IMP messages are encouraged to adopt IATA Cargo-XML
standards as soon as possible or develop a plan to migrate to IATA Cargo-XML. Please find attached the IATA recommendation on
Cargo-XML standards and the XML message specifications are available on the IATA website: http://www.iata.org/cargo-xml
