PRIVACY POLICY STATEMENT

This notice (Personal Information Collection Statement) is issued in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance Ch. 486 Laws of Hong Kong, SAR China.

"Hong Kong Association of Freight Forwarding And Logistics Ltd Known as "HAFFA" pledges to meet fully, and where possible exceed, internationally recognised standards of personal data privacy protection, in complying with the requirements of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. In doing so, we will ensure compliance by our staff and executive Board members and committee members thereto attached, with the strictest standards of security and confidentiality."

Any information of a personal or private nature which is required to be furnished to HAFFA, either in electronic or paper form, will be kept confidential and treated as such in accordance with the above Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. Any information collected:-

• will only be used for the purpose of processing internal documents, or managing member's account with HAFFA.   
• will only be used as required by HAFFA in conforming with any legal requirements.   
• will be used if relevant in relation to employment of any staff.   
• will not be disclosed by us to any other party in a form that would identify you without your prior permission.   
• will only be accessed by employees whom have a need to use the data and who have been trained to handle such data properly and observe confidentiality. 

The personal data you provide may be disclosed to other Government bureaux/departments or relevant parties for the purpose mentioned above, if required. Apart from this, the data may only be disclosed to parties where you have given consent to such disclosure or where such disclosure is allowed under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. 

Any person providing confidential information has the right of access and correction of information. A fee may be imposed for complying with a data access request. 

HAFFA will, in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and according to the nature of the personal data collected, adopt all reasonably practicable measures to ensure that all personal data are correct, kept securely and confidentially and protected against unauthorised or accidental access, processing, erasure or other use, and will follow the relevant provisions in making corrections and giving access to data. Your personal data will be kept by HAFFA for a reasonable period of time as may be required for the above specific purposes for which they were collected and in accordance with the relevant statutory provisions. After that time, your personal data will be erased.
